| These are friends I hang out w/ in this part of the country on occasion... I love you all!!  
It's hard to believe it's only just over 2 weeks since I'm back from vacation... it was way too short, but oh so SWEET! I got to spend time w/my entire immediate family which was really good... it had been almost a year since we were all together at the same place. I had so much fun w/ my nieces.. it was the first time the younger ones were ok w/hangin out w/ me... it was special!  
Got to spend several days at my sisters house... that was really great... then also had the priviledge of helping one of my best friends get ready for her wedding! Got to see lots of people at the wedding I hadn't seen in quite a while... that was really good!  Sharla, it was awesome hangin out w/ you again.. love you girl... keep dreaming and dream big... you have lots to offer!!
Then of course it was spending time w/and getting to know my man better... he got to meet my family and my church friends... hope it wasn't too scary for him! He was really good w/it all! The one wkend we went on a double date w/one of our friends.. we both enjoyed that immensely... thanx Vern & Elisa for the great eve. 
So, I think that about sums it up... life at camp is busy which is quite normal... but the end is in sight which feels really good.... one more event after we get through this next week and I think we're finished w/intakes til next year. Holidays are coming up and about everyone is leaving... wonder what's gonna happen to those of us who are staying??? Hopefully we can come up w/something really fun and creative!! | So you all have been wanting an update.... I'm not gonna write much... decided to FINALLY update some pics you all have been wanting from way back when.... This pic write here shows Matt petting a moose... well, not really.. it just looks that way, but he did come hang around here at camp for several days until Lynn and I chased him off... we must have been scary.. 
These next several pics are friends I love to hang out w/... some of you I see almost daily and others of you... I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU NEXT WKEND!! Plus many other great people!    
These precious kiddos I can't wait to see again... this auntie misses out on so much of their lives... I miss them!!   
And this bunch of people has made many awesome memories together over the past year... several of you all are gone from here, but the imprint you have made on my life will last forever....   And this pic here marks the beginning of a new phase in my life.... an adventure it is!

| It's SOLO time!!! What in the world does that mean? It means you can go off in the bush all by yourself and no one will come lookin for you............. but me, since I'm not the ultimate camping girl I won't do that ~ it means we don't have to answer the phones.... so if you try to call and we just ignore it, it means we probably don't hear it~~~~ you can go to Pikes Peak if you wanna and it won't even be considered as part of your vacation days... but I won't do that either since I don't have any rich uncles who will pay for it!!! Have great fun Kevin! So, I guess I'll stay here and paint my room, and play music real loud, and sleep in... get up for a few hours, and sleep again, and if I feel like it, I'll sleep again. And if anyone asks me again if I'm bored yet??? Well, I just might scream at them, but more then likely I'll put a sweet smile on my face and answer very graciously.... "NO I AM NOT BORED" Just because I'm not running around like a headless chicken, doesn't mean I'm bored.... most likely I just haven't figured out the next thing to do... you know, I'm not used to having so much time on my hands. I don't even have to get my brain running the minute I hit the floor in the morn. And I can take 3 hours to wake up in the morn cuz no one will calling my name and asking me what they're s'posed to be doing. Now that's waking up in peace right there! So, if you see me before noon these days don't be expecting much from me!!! But, for me, the BEST part of solo week is the opportunity I have to go hang out w/ my many wonderful friends on the reserve. I leave Wed. for the rest of the the week.... bring it on.... it's always where I find my heart! So, summer was good, stressful, exhausting, and a whole lot more, but God always gave grace for the moment. It was a pretty sad day last Tue when the summer staff all pulled out. To my brother.... it was absolutely awesome having you here on the summer team this year. Having you around added so much to my summer! You are the BEST! Monica.... wow! where I would I be w/out you? You listened to me time and time again... thanks for your input, advice, encouragement... and for the times you rescued us in the kitchen! I'm certainly a better person because of you! Elisa, miss nurse, you was da bomb... it was great hangin out, catchin up, chattin, night rounds, bedroom parties! It was so good havin you back again this summer! Hope that exam goes well for you..... So, it's been mighty quiet and rather boring here since everyone left.... the reality of that fact came out quite strongly a few nights ago when we sat around in the lounge ALL reading "guidepost"... imagine that Bessie! But for real we did.... it's just not the same when you're gone! So, w/ summer behind us, more realities set in.... one I feel quite keenly is the fact that my dear friend Janel is no longer just across the field. You are a jewel, girlfriend! What am I ever gonna do w/ you to laugh and cry w/? The imprint you made in my life will be a treasure forever! I miss you girl... I know God is going to use you in BIG ways. | Ok, so the ice did go out... (about 6 weeks) I know, I probably should've posted awhile back already, but I was gone alot and there wasn't much happening around here to really post about. I've sure been enjoying a lower key pace of life! Now we're gearing up for summer camps. Our staff is slowly but surely making their appearences.... I'm anticipating a great summer... meeting new people, making new friends, and doing enough crazy stuff to keep kitchen life from gettin too monotonous!! So, in May all us single staff went camping for a long wkend.... had great fun, and made lots of memories.... used hot rocks to keep us warm at night... otherwise we pry woulda froze! I also spent a week in Slate reconnecting w/ dear friends there. It was so amazing the opportunities God placed in my lap! I left so excited about what is happening there. The 1st of June Bessie, Kevin, Matt, and I took off to our respected homes. Matt got his twin brother married off, and the rest of us just hung out w/ friends and family. I had an absolute wonderful, refreshing time. No, I was not ready to come back, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks for all the memories you gals... coffee w/ ladies from church, shoppin w/ youth friends, lunch w/ old times friends, bein' smothered by the nieces, pickin' on my lil' brothers (they hate when I call 'em lil' brothers), and just spending time w/ family. Enjoying fresh garden goodies.... and so much more!!! The memories will live on forever! The ride back.... bored out of my mind less then 3 hrs after we hit the road.... Matt givin us all the laugh of the night w/ his PWT Cruiser!!! (he's been at NYP way too long) So, it was gettin back and finishin up this and doin' that... doin late nights w/ Monica.... girl it's so good to have you back for the summer! Sayin' good bye to Mark's and Anita... Doin' a low country boil outside, makin our own pontoon boat and doing a birthday party on the lake for Bessie and Matt.... Christmas carroling in June for the families across the lake!! we might've lost our minds, but we treasure the memories! Now, later tonight and tomorrow the rest of the summer staff arrive and the place will be buzzin w/ people from now until aug. Pray for us as you think of us... for unity as a team and a summer of making many positive memories w/ the kids, etc. So, I'm signin off and pry won't be back again til Aug. sometime. | So, maybe it's time to do something w/ this blog....... since my last update, man, where do I start? So much has been going on around here... right now I'm totally enjoying a lower key pace of life... maybe I'll just start w/ tonight... the guys planned and made supper tonight - it was beautiful not to have to cook at all today! Thanks guys - you all did a great job even though we nearly froze out there at Sandy Beach! Last wkend we had like a major blizzard... AND, we had youth retreat.. now you'd think them 2 don't really go together, but it turned out to be a great wkend inspite of the weather! Had a great group of kids who put their hearts into whatever was happening! Chapel sessions were really good... they were so attentive you could've heard a pin drop at times! I know God is doing big things! We had Family Life workshop for a week which was well attended... had like 36 kids and maybe 25 adults... kept us domestics a hoppin to keep 'em all fed! Oh, and our counselling center is finally done... thanks to all those people who came up here and put time into it! It looks really nice, but made for some really busy weeks. W/ that, the guys are moved back into their apt. too. After 6 months of making do in a lil' cabin, they're smilin' big to be able to have a nice house again! My parents and lil' brother were here the first week of april... that was sweet! It was a busy time, but I did get to work w/ mom and get a few projects done that had been waiting for a long time! One wkend Shelah, Janel, and I went to Thunder Bay w/ Matt and Kevin to hang out w/ Sue one more time b/4 she moved home. That was great Sue... missed you Karla! We went to applebees to eat since we have nothin like that here in Dryden... had some good food! Hey Shelah and Janel, remember how we got so involved in our conversation we almost forgot about pickin up the guys on time!!! I don't know what else so I'm not gonna keep boring you all... next time I blog I hope to shout to ya all that "THE ICE IS GONE" ... it's late goin' out this year...
